On behalf of the Steering Committee of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum (EaP CSF), our organisation, 2Celsius, with its president Raul Cazan as representative, has been selected as an EaP CSF delegate for the 2024-2026 cycle. The decision of the leading body of EAP CSF proves 2C’s commitment to expanding and strengthening democracy eastwards, to fostering climate politics in the Eastern Partnership states, and to opposing any forms of authoritarian developments in our region.
The Forum received 478 eligible applications from the 6 Eastern Partnership countries and European Union member states. In line with the Forum’s delegate selection criteria and following thematic and structural quotas, 155 organisations have been selected.
2C will participate in the the first meeting of WG 3 ‘Environment, climate change and energy security’ which will take place in June 2024.
The delegate status comes with numerous rights and obligations and, among other things:
– It determines your participation in the EaP CSF activities for the whole upcoming cycle (2024 – 2026), including in total two annual Working Group meetings and two EaP Civil Society Summits;
– It gives you the right to be actively engaged in the activities of the Forum, including voting, or being elected to leadership positions within the Forum.
Our Working Group
EaP CSF members and delegates are organised along their area of expertise in five Working Groups (WGs), both at the National Platform and Forum level.
In line with your main area of expertise and preference listed in the application form, you have been selected as a member of the following Working Group: 3: ‘Environment, climate change and energy security’.
Belonging to a WG means that twice a year, during one in-person and one online WG meeting, 2C will meet with fellow delegates from the EaP region and the EU. During the meetings, we will have the chance to network with other organisations, work together on joint policy recommendations, learn about the situation in other countries with respect to our area of expertise, promote our organisation’s work, and much more.
2C’s delegate mandate for the next two years
Throughout our 2-year mandate (2024 – 2026), the delegate status allows us to:
- Participate in yearly Working Group meetings and two EaP Civil Society Summits;
- Run for leadership positions within the Forum (i.e. Working Group coordinator; National Facilitator; Compliance Committee chair, etc.)
- Advocate jointly and actively contribute to policy making;
